The Hamilton High Conflict Forum is proud to host the 3rd Annual Conference for professionals working with high conflict families entitled - Courageous Conversations: High Conflict Families, Domestic Violence and Differentiation. The HHCF is excited to have Dr. Peter Jaffe as the keynote speaker throughout the day. This program contains 3 hours 50 minutes of Professionalism Hour(s) and 1 hour and 1 hour and 45 minutes of Substantive Content, as approved by the LSUC
The program will include:
Differentiation of the types of domestic violence;
How to assess the differences between domestic violence and high conflict in families;
What tools are available for various professionals to utilize for the purposes of differentiation;
How differential screening for risk in cases where domestic violence is alleged provides preliminary guidance in identifying parenting arrangements that are appropriate for the specific child and family;
What to do when both domestic violence and elements of high conflict exist in the families served by various professionals;
How service providers (police, CAS, domestic violence workers, family law professionals, custody and access assessors) impact the differentiation process and what are the implications for families when not identified appropriately;
How do professionals engage in respectful networking within their communities.
The ticket price includes snacks and lunch provided on site at Liuna Station. In addition, resources will be available for sale from Bryan Prince Booksellers on site at the conference. Parking and Transportation: Parking is free on site at Liuna Station. GO Transit may be available to the West Harbour GO Station which is directly across from Liuna Station. Please check the GO Transit schedule for availability.
Refund Policy: Transfer of registration to another person may be done once, at any time without a fee. All requests for refunds must be made in writing to the event organizer. Written notice of cancellation received by September 16, 2016 will be issued a full refund. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations received after September 16, 2016.
