Event description
A hands-on advocacy workshop on the global response to Covid-19 including funding, vaccines, access and equity.

About this Event

Covid-19 is not going away anytime soon and the second-wave is already engulfing many countries as we head into last few months of the year.

The global response to the crisis has been poor with little leadership and cooperation amongst countries and now there is increasing nationalism in countries's response to the crsis. This crisis in mulitlateralism on Covid-19 will seriously impact developing countries, the health and livelihoods of populations, as well as rights and climate change goals.

This hands-on workshop will address key questions on Covid-19 advocacy, such as:

  • What are mechanisms like ACT Accelerator and COVAX doing to help address the equity gaps around Covid-19?
  • How is the community organising to respond to the key issues on Covid-19?
  • Which are the key networks, civil society engagement in the ACT-A pillars and the role of international organisations like Gavi and the Global Fund?
  • What are the advocacy asks for Covid-19?
  • What are the opportunities for advocacy in 2021?

These and other questions put forward by participants leading up to the workshop, will allow active groups working on Covid-19 initiatives to debate, share initiatives, map out advocacy gaps and explore possible areas of collaboration to help ensure Covid-19 does not impact people and planet any more than necessary.
