COVID-19 Engineering Design e-competition to help improve personal protective equipment and prevent germ transmission.

About this Event

NOTE: THE REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE FULLY REFUNDED UPON SUBMSSION OF A DESIGN -including the eventbrite fee ($16.93 per team)- this is just to ensure registered teams follow through with participating in the competition

Looking to use your creativity and engineering design skills to help with this pandemic? Consider boosting your resume and design skills by forming a team of up to 4 people and entering BESt's fully online design competition. This competition is open to undergraduate students and students that just recently graduated (were a student in the 2020 year). Pick one of the design topics:

1) Improving Personal Protective Equipment (better manufactured, cheaper, better at stopping germ transmission etc.)

2a) Preventing germ transmission in stores

2b) Preventing germ transmission in public transit

THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS MAY 31,2020 AT 11:59 PM and the problem statement details will be laid out June 1. Only one ticket needs to be purchased per team. You will have until June 14 (2 weeks) to come up with a design and submit it for evaluation by our judges which are professors and graduate students. The winning team will receive $250 and runner-ups will also receive prizes. The winner may possibly also have the chance to implement their design to help society!
