Event description

Description

The Canada Periodical Fund (CPF) is an important source of funding for Canadian magazines. The Aid to Publishers component of the CPF is designed to provide Canadian magazine publishers with financial support to produce and provide Canadian readers with high-quality Canadian editorial content.

The Department of Canadian Heritage has been hosting information sessions across the country to address questions about coming changes to the Aid to Publishers component of the CPF, starting with in-person sessions in June in Montreal and Toronto, and continuing with a session via teleconference/webinar for Alberta and British Columbia magazine publishers Monday, July 29 at 10 a.m. PDT. (There may also be an in-person session with Harold Boies in Vancouver in late August, but this has not yet been confirmed.)

At this session (format still to be nailed down), publishers will have the opportunity to hear more about changes to the Aid to Publishers application guidelines from Harold Boies, Director, Periodical Publishing Policy and Programs at the Department of Canadian Heritage. There will also be a question and answer period.

The July 29 session is free, however, registration is required. Instructions on logging into the teleconference or webinar will follow. If this session becomes full, please join our waitlist as we will arrange for another session if there seems to be demand for it.

I hope you are able to attend.
