Event description

Description

Explore the centuries-old traditions of Japanese lacquer, ceramic, and bamboo craft through this workshop in the Omotesenke tradition of chanoyu (Japanese tea ceremony). Participants will learn about technique, design, and seasonality and then take part in a tea ceremony for a hands-on experience of various traditional crafts items in action.

Instruction in Chanoyu, or Sadō -- the traditional Japanese Way of Tea -- is provided by Maiko Behr, a certified instructor of the Omotesenke School.
