Artist Patricia Lortie’s Wild Weave seeks to find a way to bring people outdoors and connect them with Nature.

Lortie’s artistic practice takes root in her physical and emotional relationship with Nature. Her work explores our place within the ecological system as the essence of who we are.

Patricia will demonstrate and guide her students through the grass weaving exercise. The workshop encourages you to walk through the land, finding dried grass and twigs, to overcome isolation and see the natural world with new eyes. It is a simple act that directs our attention towards the world that surrounds us and encourages us to live in the moment.

Materials are all provided onsite. Please come dressed comfortably and be prepared to spend the workshop outdoors. Sunscreen, bug spray and a water bottle are recommended. In the case of inclement weather, the workshop will be moved indoors to one of the studios at KOAC.

This workshop is suitable for all ages, however adult supervision/help is required for children under 8 years of age.
