Event description

Description

The Community Ideas Factory is a collaborative research project that blends the principles of Community-Based Research with the tools of Creative Problem-Solving (CPS) to develop fundable ‘social innovations’ for philanthropy; solutions that are created by stakeholders, for stakeholders. Over the past 2 years, our participating stakeholders have repeatedly and consistently highlighted the potential value of ‘wrap-around service programming’ as a means for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of philanthropy in our Region. As a ‘process innovation’, wrap-around service programming aims to provide a holistic, collaborative, and streamlined system of support that meets the identified needs of clients and caregivers across a range of life areas.

If such a system were to be pursued in our Region, what might it look like? What should it do? How might it be structured? And how might your organization engage in it? As an important stakeholder in our system, we are pleased to invite you to a series of workshops in order to help us shed light on these important technical questions.

We would like to invite you to participate in a CPS session, as part of the “Community Ideas Factory” project; a project being undertaken as part of a Social Science and Humanities Research Council Community Innovation Fund. This Creative Problem Solving Facilitation is being conducted by Drs. Michael McNamara and Sara Cumming of Sheridan College on behalf of our community partners, the Oakville Community Foundation.
