Event description

Description

This is a workshop about business presentations. What is a successful business presentation? What do you want to achieve? What tools are you going to use to achieve them? These are key questions that will be addressed in this workshop.

Special attention will be given to credibility. What makes you credible? What makes your presentation credible? Because if you, or your presentation, fail to be credible, you won't be successful, and won't achieve your goals. Credibility is essential as far as business presentations are concerned. And the implications are far reaching.

The workshop will cover:

- key lessons learned from top presenters such as Steve Jobs, Al Gore and Hans Rosling

- several approaches to structure your presentation

- when to use PowerPoint or similar sofwares

- the importance of images, graphics, visual effects

- the art of telling stories (story telling) inside a presentation

- how to incorporate elements of humor into your presentation

- how to leave a striking impression - or a call to action that will be listened to

The workshop will address these points through a list of critical questions to address while you are preparing your presentation. So you can use it later on as a check list, that will help you ensure your future business presentations are of the high quality you envision.

This is a bilingual English and French - supporting material will be provided to attendees in both languages.

The workshop is presented by Jean-Pierre Kiekens, a former university lecturer and development consultant. Jean-Pierre received the highest distinction in communications and leadership from Toastmaters International and, in this context, organized events on communication with personalities such as Simon Durivage and Jean-Marc Chaput. He has planned and chaired eight major professional conferences with business presidents, senior executives, ministers and senior government officials.

Jean-Pierre is available to conduct workshops in your own organization. You can contact him at cafeimaginemtl@gmail.com

Like the other Imagine TALKS, the workshop is free, but a participation fee of $ 8 is required to cover the drinks and snacks, available at will during the event.

Note: while Café Imagine organizes various talks, it's primarily a trend coworking/study place, where you are welcome at any time. So visit our website for details: http://cafeimagine.ca
