Event description

Description

"Champlain Slept Here" Introduces the French and Indigenous Story of our Region.

The history of the riverside village of Creemore goes back well over 1000 years, when the Huron people numbering over 60,000 populated the area. Inspired by the story of Samuel de Champlain and the "Big Heart" hospitality received from the Petun First Nations people in 1615 we have created an experience offered in both English and French to inspire and create a memorable visit to our Mad River valley area.

Included in the tour is the opportunity to cycle through the picturesque countryside following roads that were established on well known trading routes from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron. Enjoy the breathtaking views in the shadow of Niagara Escarpment followed by a local and seasonal French Canadian and Indigenous inspired menu, enjoyed al fresco at an Exclusive Off Grid Riverside Maple Sugar Shack.

Hosted by Mountain Ash Farm, Auberge Member of RouteChamplain.ca - Be the Explorer French Tourism Trail
