Event description
Join us for a panel with public health experts to discuss health issues facing our political parties as the federal election approaches!

About this Event

Canada is the only country with public healthcare that doesn’t cover prescription drugs. One in two Canadians are affected by mental illness by the age of 40. There are 7700 premature deaths in Canada per year as a result of air pollution. These are only some of the major health concerns facing our political parties as the federal election approaches.

Join us on Thursday, October 17th at 6:30 pm for a panel discussion with experts from the field of public health to examine these issues in closer detail and get informed in time for the election.

Our moderator will be Professor Alexander Lim, from the Health Studies Department. Professor Lim is also Chair on the Board of Directors of the Rexdale Community Health Center.

PANELISTS:

- Sané Dube, Policy & Government Relations Lead at Alliance for Healthier Communities

- Lori Spadorcia, Vice President, Communications and Partnerships at CAMH

- Sandra Hanna, Interim CEO of the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada

- Stephanie Gower, Acting Manager in Healthy Public Policy at Toronto Public Health

The panel will be free to attend, open to the public, and held at the Health Sciences building in room 610. Refreshments will be served.

Please order your tickets through Eventbrite and RSVP via our Facebook Event page. We hope to see you there!
