Critical Soup at YTB
Guest Speaker: Chandra Maracle
March 26th, 1pm to 4pm
Presented in partnership with YTB at the Feminist Art Gallery

Join us for a conversation with Chandra Maracle who will discuss her work exploring the connections between language, land and food sovereignty. Chandra Maracle is a member of the Mohawk Nation, the co-founder and Nutrition Coordinator of Skaronhyase’ko:wa Tyohterakentko:wa Tsi Yontaweya’tahkwa/The Everlasting Tree School, and the founder of Kakhwa’on:we/Real People Eat Real Food.

Critical Soup is an interdisciplinary art initiative that offers a space for sharing food and dialogue about the politics of food production and consumption.

This Critical Soup event is organized in partnership with Younger Than Beyonce, hosted at the Feminist Art Gallery and it is presented in conversation with the programming for the exhibition “There Is Bread and Salt Between Us” at Open Space Gallery, Toronto. Curated by Valentyna Onisko, “There Is Bread and Salt Between Us” is an exhibition exploring cultural and historical entanglements through diverse gestures of hospitality and includes work by Basil AlZeri, Tsēma Igharas, Lisa Myers and Dana Prieto.
