CROOKED MOUTH

Founded by Ian Campbell in southern BC in 2012, CROOKED MOUTH has developed their own style of post-industrial folk music, blending influences from the original neofolk wave, with the obscurities of 60/70s acid folk, archaic folklore groups, post-punk music, and the contemporary underground.

At New Years 2022, the band relocated to Vilnius, Lithuania, and, collaborating with several prominent figures of Lithuanian folk music, recorded it’s latest LP, Between The Fool & The Magician, which was released in March of this year. Campbell is returning for a series of special performances with old comrades and is excited to present this new material on Cascadian shores.

TITHE

TITHE conjures a raw and haunting dark folk, exploring the hidden, inmost essence. Shawn Hache’s singular vision uses touchstones like the arcanum of the Tarot and images from British folklore to illuminate the depths and vistas of personal and universal experience in an alchemical process that seeks to transmute the most base into Spiritual Gold.

TRAD SESSION

A session is commonly a casual gathering of musicians who have come together to play traditional (Irish) music.

Aurora and Viv will guide the audience through the session, bringing you Celtic tunes to listen to and participate in. We will provide a few basic instruments for use.

Aurora

Aurora is an experienced, varied fiddle player who has performed with various ensembles and musicians in and outside of Victoria. She has a particular interest and expertise in Irish traditional music, but is capable of other contemporary as well as classical styles.
