Event description

Description

Our 7th annual run on June 10th in L’Amoreaux Park; a family friendly, well marked and supported 5k to build wells in Bangladesh for Rohingya Refugees.

Through what has been called a “planned, deliberate and widespread campaign of ethnic cleansing,” over half a million Rohingya refugees have fled for their lives into Bangladesh. To meet the humanitarian crises, enormous emergency refugee camps are being set up, including a 3000 acre camp at Kutupalong.

Basic human necessities are urgently needed inside the camps. We have partnered with ERDO to drill wells inside the refugee camp. Each well provides clean drinking water for roughly 100 people at a cost of $1,169.00. This cost includes program oversight, monitoring, evaluations, reporting and GPS geolocating. Every well meets UN standards - including a minimum of well depth of 1,000 feet deep to ensure water quality is high.

The need is pressing, the timing is critical, the opportunity to make a great impact is urgent.
