Event description

Description

Crown + Bliss presents a clean beauty DIY workshop tying into January's theme of "Less is More".

Did you know that it only takes 26 seconds to absorb all chemicals in cosmetics into our skin and that 80% of cosmetics include and contain David Suzuki’s Dirty Dozen ingredients that are linked to serious health conditions?

Join us to educate yourself on other clean beauty tips and how to simplify what you put on, and therefore, in your body. Clean beauty product advocate, Pam Reeve, and Holistic Nutritionist, Lauren Hong, will lead attendees through this workshop. Learn what is in your beauty products and how to find safer products. Subsequently, learn how to make your own natural toner, as well as other tips for DIY clean beauty you can do at home.

Energy balls will be provided, made by Lauren Hong to curb any hanger during the workshop.

On top of this valuable insight you will also take home clean, simple products. Crown + Bliss has curated only the cleanest, best brands and products for you to take home (see below for details).

Simple Swag Bag

(Take home Clean Cosmetics curated by Crown + Bliss)

  • Your own DIY Face Toner and DIY Dry Shampoo, with all natural ingredients and aromatherapy.

  • Samples from Beauty Counter.

  • Naked Face natural lip balm.

  • Antioxidant Booster Supplement from Well Told Health, a clean supplement company crafted from only organic food. Antioxidant is a natural way to increase your skin's complexion, as it protects against oxidative stress that ages your cells and body. Did you know only 37% of ingredients in top 100 supplement brands can actually be identifies as natural? Similar to beauty products, there is limited regulation on supplements and ‘natural’ does not mean it actually is. Well Told Health is the exception ($36 value).

  • A prize for one Witch in the Wild’s full collection of female-centric sustainable botanical beauty products ($90 value).

  • And more!

Meet The Facilitators:

Pam Reeve, in her spare time is a passionate advocate of safer beauty products because she cares so much about protecting herself and her family, raising awareness of the harmful ingredients in most products and how to find safer choices. She is a representative of Beautycounter as it upholds the same values, lobbying government for higher testing standards and transparency, while also producing a high quality product line that you can trust, is rigorously tested and beauty editor approved -- now that’s hard to do! She also works full time at League, a health benefit company.

Lauren Hong, is a Holistic Nutritionist and DIY enthusiast. As a Skin Cancer Survivor, Lauren has developed a passion for crafting homemade, toxic-free skincare products. Her experience with cancer has led to her pursuit of healthier living; where she is spreading awareness about the hazards that lurk in our everyday foods and products and sharing healthy recipes, tips and tricks for clean living.

*Open to all women-identified people.
