Biography:

Anjli Patel is a lawyer and trademark agent who has tirelessly devoted her practice to helping independent designers understand their rights, know their worth, and navigate all areas of the law that impact their fashion business, including contract, employment, and intellectual property.

Her legal advice is infused with extensive knowledge of fashion industry structure and business practices, and delivered with discretion, sensitivity, and care, resulting in a truly specialized, value-added service.

After attending law school at the University of Calgary, articling at Borden Ladner Gervais, and completing Fordham University’s pioneering fashion law course in New York City, she was inspired to merge her lifelong interest in the the business of fashion with the practice of law.

Anjli has written for The Business of Fashion, Paper, and ELLE India, is a mentor at Ryerson University's Fashion Zone incubator, and is a board member at Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto. Known locally as a "fashion lawyer", Anjli uses her platform to educate on the value of Canadian design, and through buying, wearing, and promoting independent designers, she leads by example. Anjli is a current member of the Gardiner Museum's Young Patrons Circle.
