Join us for CSHP-BC Branch's Autumn Educational Event!

The CSHP Program's Committee is proud to invite you to BC Branch's annual Clinical Symposium on September 14th, 2017 at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Come enjoy a delicious dinner with your colleages and friends, followed by a line up of 3 outstanding talks from local experts and earn two hours of accredited Continuing Education credits.

5:00-6:00 PM: Registration / Buffet Dinner 

 

6:00-6:15 PM: Greetings from CSHP-BC Branch Executive Council

 

6:15-7:00 PM Stopping the Bloodgates - Reversal of antiplatalets and oral anticoagulants

The use of blood products and reversal agents, based on available evidence, to restore hemostasis in patients with an acute bleed while on antiplatelets or oral anticoagulants will be reviewed.

Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) has been legalized in Canada since June 2016. The objective of this presentation is to provide an overview of MAiD from a hospital pharmacists and nurse practitioner assessor/prescriber perspective in BC.

Learning Objectives for Clinical Symposium 2017

By the end of this educational session, attendees will: 

  1. Be exposed to clinical topics/controversies in pharmacy practice
  2. Build upon on their knowledge in various areas of pharmacy practice
  3. Become up-to-date with pharmacy practice in the areas of reversal of anticoagulation and antiplatelet agents, medical assistance in dying, and sepsis management outside the ICU

This continuing education event has been accredited for 2.25 CEUs by the CSHP-BC Branch (CCCEP Number 8008-2017-2146-C-P). CSHP-BC Branch is an Accredited Provider of continuing pharmacy education by the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy.
