Event description

Description

The NATO Association of Canada is pleased to host the Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting Workshop: Reporting Strategies, Trends & Best Practices in partnership with The Works Design Communications and Hudbay Minerals Inc.

About The Event:

The Canadian mining sector is challenged by having to conform and adapt to a range of disruptive forces, including increased urbanization, globalization, and ever more innovative technologies that are challenging companies' communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

As the industry navigates the complex landscape of environmentally and socially responsible mining, producing accurate and compelling reports is becoming more important. Reporting has become a way for companies to better engage stakeholders, improve financial performance, contribute to industry innovation, and strengthen brand reputation. This workshop will support companies and CSR professionals alike to effectively plan their reporting in a manner that considers strategy, engagement, materiality, and performance improvement, while also keeping in mind reporting trends and best practices.

Speakers & Event Details:

Participants from the mining industry, CSR professionals, and those interested in learning more about reporting practices are encouraged to attend. The event will host two speakers:

  • Wesley Gee (Director, Sustainability - The Works Design Communications) will speak about CSR reporting strategies, trends, and best practices

  • David Clarry (Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility - Hudbay Minerals Inc.) will highlight Hudbay's experiences in CSR reporting

An open Q&A discussion will follow, where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences.
