About this event

UPDATE: Based on community response, the November 16 Community Connect information session has shifted to a virtual meeting and is no longer in-person. Community feedback is important in allowing us to refine our methods of engagement and outreach. We aspire to create an inclusive and accessible culturally responsive environment where everybody feels safe, welcome and respected. With that in mind, we hope to see you virtually on November 16 and look forward to hosting an in-person event when suitable. Please feel free to continue to share your questions, comments, and ideas at CulturalHotspot@toronto.ca.

---

Find out how to participate in the Cultural Hotspot. Share your ideas about the community-based arts and cultural projects you'd like to see in the Little Jamaica neighbourhood and learn about funding opportunities.

From June to October 2022, the Cultural Hotspot will adopt a new hyperlocal model to support, engage and collaborate with equity-deserving groups, community-based organizations, artists and BIAs in Little Jamaica, helping further animate and nurture a distinct arts and cultural ecosystem.

The Cultural Hotspot will be delivered in partnership with arts and community organizations, and will offer opportunities for youth employment and mentorship. Neighbourhood residents will have the opportunity to connect with each other, share stories and celebrate their unique, defining and common cultural assets and vibrancy through creative expression.

For more information visit www.Toronto.ca/CulturalHotspot or contact us at CulturalHotspot@Toronto.ca.

Closed captioning will be provided. ASL interpretation and any other accommodations are available upon 2 days advanced notice. Please contact us with specific accommodation requests.

Celebrating Creativity & Community June through October

The Cultural Hotspot shines a spotlight on arts, culture and community in Toronto’s diverse neighbourhoods by celebrating, connecting and investing in areas outside of the core, inspiring new ideas about where culture thrives in Toronto. As it enters its ninth consecutive year, the 2022 Cultural Hotspot is adopting a new hyperlocal model, focusing on the Little Jamaica and Golden Mile neighbourhoods and their historical, present and future cultural significance and creative contributions to the continued formation of modern day Takronto (Toronto).
