Event description
North York Arts is excited to present an exclusive FREE Artist Talk from Elham Fatapour!

About this Event

Join us for exclusive insight from artist Elham Fatapour as she discusses her exhibition, My Story.

Elham Fatapour is a Toronto based artist born in Tehran, Iran. Elham’s art practice focuses on traumatic Middle-East geopolitics in relation to her personal narratives. Her work is charged with empathetic visions, reified into mixed media installations often involving painting and drawing.

My Story investigates how historical events from war-stricken communities have a paralyzing effect over bodies. The exhibition consists of two series: My Story and Erosion. My Story is a series of 10 life size figurative paintings which suggest Elham’s autobiography. Erosion is a series of works based on injustices suffered by children. The series comments on the often transient nature of many of these refugees’ lives – dissolved and forgotten.

Elham's talk will be from 2-3 PM and the gallery will be open for viewing from 1:30-5 PM. For more info on Elham's exhibit, visit northyorkarts.org/project/fatapour/.

We can't wait to see you there!
