Join Catherine Sinclair (OAG Deputy Director, Chief Curator) for an in-person tour of Stanley Wany’s exhibition For Those Who Chose the Sea.

About this event

Based in Montreal, Afro-Canadian artist Stanley Wany explores his own coming-to-terms with the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade through a powerful multimedia installation that brings together immersive video footage of the unpredictable waves of the Atlantic Ocean, sculptural approximations of the compartments in which human beings were stored below decks on slaving ships, and accompanying mixed-media work. Please note this program will take place in English.
