We live in a highly regulated world, with many big systems we have to work within. As an individual, how might we bring our passion and purpose forward in a way that ignites innovation within these systems?

Join us for this three-part conversation where we'll explore how innovation can thrive in unlikely places. Participants will be invited to share their experiences of innovation in institutions and big systems, creative problem solving that we didn’t know what innovation, and how we can take ownership over our own ability to create pockets of innovation everywhere.

Topics for each of the three sessions are as follows:

  • Innovation in Institutions and Big Systems. Let’s explore the systems we work within, and how they provide barriers and opportunities for innovation in our work.
  • Innovation from Necessity. Let’s bring light to the innovations that don’t call themselves innovations, and come from creative problem-solving. Let’s look outside the “social entrepreneur” space, and explore rural solutions, micro business, and diverse cultural ways of doing business.
  • What’s Next and What Can We Do? Let’s look inward and forward, what role can we play, and what commitment can we make to building an innovation culture no matter where we are.

These conversations are part of the Curious Conversations held in partnership between AB Seed and Innovate Calgary.

Join us on Zoom for all 3 of the following days:

  • Friday, March 31st from 10-11:30 am MST
  • Friday, April 14th from 10-11:30 am MST
  • Friday, April 28th from 10-11:30 am MST

to gather with community, start an ongoing conversation, and build meaningful relationships with each other.

These conversations, and the events, are highly engaging so please come prepared to be present for the entire time together and able to participate.

There is no cost for participation and anyone working within or alongside the social economy is welcome to attend. If you choose to join us, we ask that you:

  • Arrive 5 minutes early
  • Remain fully present during our time together
  • Come prepared to listen to, and learn from others

Registration is required. While it is not mandatory to attend all three parts of this event, it is strongly encouraged to support meaningful dialogue and relationship building.
