3D Needle Felting "Cute Little Bear". We will learn how to needle felt a cute and cuddly 3D bear figure! In this workshop our instructor Leah will be teaching sculpture, 3 inch bear, building parts together, attaching arms & legs, felting techniques to create plumpness that is squeezable & cute. Artist Secrets revealed! All materials & tools provided. (some experience is helpful but not required) Ages 15-70+

Disclaimer: Needle Felting is an addictive & intuitive creative medium. Light to pack around, so colorful and soft (irresistible) when combined with the amazing sensation of making something by hand, with this unique needle, & the small sound it makes while stabbing wool. People of all ages and interests, find it all relaxing and rewarding. Needle felting is a slow process, with many “Ah-ha!” moments.

Local to the East Kootenay of B.C. (Skookumchuck with Kimberley as the school district). Completed high school in Victoria B.C. with 3 years at Central Technical School of the Arts in Toronto Ontario: (bronze sculpture, wax molding, graphic design, & abstract acrylic painting). Returning to Kimberley in the late 90’s as a semi-professional fine artist & circus performer. Moving to the creative community of Crawford Bay (East Shore of Kootenay Lake) a decade later, where Needle Felting started around 2007. 11 years later, in 2018, Leah launches “Amazing Felted Fibre Arts”: The business of traveling & teaching people of all skill levels, how to felt. Sharing techniques and her artistic secrets.

Each workshop is entertaining as much as it is informative. Designed to be inspiring, educational, and fun.

In every workshop, the basics emphasising the importance of “a gentle touch” and patience are covered. Needle felting can be a very long process. Workshops are designed so that the project being used for teaching can be finished at home, most often completed during the session. Participants are encouraged to connect by email after the workshop - if they ever have questions or wish to share pictures and stories of their finished pieces.

Each workshop comes with all the tools and supplies – if a participant wishes to bring their own (they can of course – but will still receive the provided supplies) so everyone can follow the guided instructions together.

**EAC Cancellation Policy: If a participant has paid for a program and cancels prior to the registration deadline they will receive the full amount of the registration fee, less a 25% administration fee. After the registration deadline has passed then no refund is available however reserved spot is transferrable to another person. If the event is cancelled due to not meeting minimum numbers, full refunds will be granted**
