About this event
The Child Welfare Immigration Centre of Excellence (CWICE) has developed a knowledge base training surrounding the intersection of child welfare practice and unresolved immigration, settlement, and border-related issues. This certificate-training series has been designed for child welfare professionals to bring awareness, build knowledge capacity in practice, and promote equitable outcomes for children, youth, and families.
This is the first module in the 8-part series of training courses. This module provides an overview of the immigration system in Canada. This knowledge-based learning will support the growth and continued development of child welfare practice. This one day (or two half day) session(s) will take you through the development and current state of the Canadian immigration system, review provincial differences and partner organizations, and introduce the intersection of this vast system with our child welfare system. Once you have completed this training, you will be able to enroll in CWICE 102.
This is a two-part virtual session.
