About this event

To enroll in this training you need to have successfully completed CWICE 101.

The Child Welfare Immigration Centre of Excellence (CWICE) has developed a knowledge based training series, surrounding the intersection of child welfare practice and immigration, settlement, integration and border-related issues.

CWICE 102 focuses on asylum seekers, denied refugee claimants and the Canadian inland refugee system. These two half day sessions will provide a better understanding on the Canadian inland refugee system, the different government bodies involved in the refugee process, refugees’ access to services, and how immigration status impacts service planning. This training is designed for child welfare workers to build knowledge and understanding of the intersection between child welfare and the Canadian immigration system. This knowledge-based learning will support the growth and development of child welfare practices to better plan for successful outcomes for clients with immigration status issues.

This is a two-part virtual session.
