To enroll in this training you need to have successfully completed CWICE 101 thru 105.
The Child Welfare Immigration Centre of Excellence (CWICE) has developed a knowledge base surrounding the intersection of child welfare practice and unresolved immigration, settlement, and border-related issues. This certificate-training series has been designed for child welfare professionals to bring awareness, build knowledge capacity in practice, and promote equitable outcomes for children, youth, and families.
CWICE 106 focuses on permanent residence pathways to Canada, as well as the placement of children and youth across international borders. This knowledge-based learning will support the growth and continued development of child welfare practice. This one day (or two half day) session(s) will provide an overview of the family sponsorship and economic programs in Canada, and recommended practices when planning cross-border placements of children or youth. Once you’ve completed this training, you will be able to enroll in CWICE 107.
This is a two-part virtual session.
