Event description
Fear of missing out on the latest Internet trend? Then attend this workshop to learn the basics of the social media app "TikTok."

About this Event

Want to know what all the hype is about over the latest social media app TikTok? Come hang in Gen Z’s newest favourite viral space and support LGBT YouthLine while you’re there! Learn how to TikTok in this #Dare2TikTok workshop, hosted by @MarkusBones.

What is #Dare2Workshops?

Through LGBT YouthLine’s #Dare2Workshops, you will participate in entry-level workshops designed to teach the ABC’s of a variety of different skills, knowledges, and talents. Pick the ones that appeal to you, and forget the ones that don’t – but don’t be intimidated by your perceived lack of ability. Everyone is here to learn and try new things together so, not being "the best" but daring to go on anyway is the number one requirement for participation!

In this workshop, participants will receive an introduction to the popular social media app "TikTok." This will include an overview of the app's content, along with a discussion of its political history and contemporary applications. Participants will also be instructed on how to create their own content for the app. It is recommended that participants create space on their phone and/or download the app before the workshop.

Materials Required:

  • A cell phone
  • A working internet connection
  • (optional) Space on their phone to download a new app
