Event description
Meet our Artists in Residence - learn about their art and what inspires them, and join in for a Q&A!

About this Event

This summer was the launch of our first Digital Arts Residency in Twillingate (DART) program. Artists Pierre LeBlanc and David Downton each created a body of work while in Twillingate that will be exhibited in our online digital art gallery.

Pierre’s practice is best described as the contemporary digital expression of sound art. It involves accumulating sensory data and transforming it in unusual ways with the use of effects, loops and layers. While in Twillingate, Pierre has collected audio and visual sensory data and created sonic experiences, synthesizing his work into an album.

David is a multimedia video artist with a background in filmmaking, 2D and 3D animation, glitch art, and photography. David’s work involves experimenting with and discovering new visual techniques by combining old obsolete analog hardware with modern digital technology. While in Twillingate, David has created a comedy/horror stop-motion animated film.

Join us on Zoom as they present their work, and learn more about their art and what inspires them. There will also be time for a Q&A - so get your questions ready!

This event is free, but we're accepting donations to the Unscripted Festival to help keep the festival running! All donations are appreciated! To donate, click HERE!
