About this event

  • 1 day 6 hours
  • Mobile eTicket

Data Carpentry's focus is on the introductory computational skills needed for data management and analysis in all domains of research. Our lessons are domain-specific, and build on the existing knowledge of learners to enable them to quickly apply skills learned to their own research. Our initial target audience is learners who have little to no prior computational experience. We create a friendly environment for learning to empower researchers and enable data driven discovery.

We will be using the Social Science Curriculum for his session.

The days will be split up as follows:

  • Day 1: Overview, Data Organization win Spreadsheets, Data Cleaning with OpenRefine
  • Day 2: R for analysis, Data Visualization with ggplot2

Each day will be from 10:00 - 4:00 EST with a pause mid-day for lunch.

PLEASE NOTE: A single ticket will get you into the session for both days.

This session will be run hybrid. There will be 12 seats available in-person, which will be held in Thistle 253, and a further 12 seats online via the Discord platform.
