DaVinci Resolve - Introduction to Colour Correction (2x3hrs)
Event Information
About this Event
DaVinci Resolve is used to colour grade countless hours of television and feature films everyday. Developed by BlackMagic Design, the software has a freely available version which contains almost all of the features found within the paid version of the application. Over 90% of films premiering at Sundance were colour corrected within this software.
This introductory course will have students colour correcting samples of provided footage in this guided workshop. Topics discussed include how to normalize footage using an appropriate LUT, balancing footage to match in a scene, and an introduction to secondary corrections such as selective saturation and vignettes. Students will receive several pieces of sample footage for a take-home assignment. Selected samples of student work will be critiqued in the follow-up workshop.
Students will need to download and install DaVinci Resolve (Free) or DaVinci Resolve Studio (Paid) version 16.2.0 or later to participate in this course. Installer files can be found at www.blackmagicdesign.com/support
