Fri, 25 November 2016, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM MST
Edmonton’s Food Bank collects surplus and donated food for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in our community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger.
Each month, almost 20,000 people receive food hampers from Edmonton’s Food Bank. The Food Bank also distributes food to more than 500,000 meals and snacks each month through more than 230 agencies, churches or food depots with which we are affiliated. Approximately 40 per cent of clients served are children under 18.
20 Volunteers are needed for a variety of projects - making hampers with staple food items, sorting food, repackaging food.
Dress code: Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. We will be in a Warehouse type setting and Volunteers should dress in layers - keep in mind that the temperature inside will be a reflection of the temperature outside. Casual/Comfortable clothing is best.
Volunteers will be required to review a JLA prior to the event. The JLA will be sent via email to all registered volunteers one week ahead of the event.
