Event description
Life can get overwhelming at times. Learn how to ride those waves.

About this Event

Join us in an interactive workshop where you can:

  • Learn about the impact triggers have on our thoughts, feelings, bodies, and behaviours – and how to help yourself in moments of overwhelm
  • Be introduced to the concept of self-soothing
  • Create your own self-soothing plan that will utilize the five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell!

About the Facilitator

Sara Mackie (she/her) is a trauma-informed social worker and counselor in Fredericton, NB, where she has recently opened a private practice called Conscious Counselling and Wellness. Sara is an eating disorder survivor, and was a volunteer with Eating Disorders NS while she lived in Halifax several years ago.

Sara is passionate about a mind-body approach to mental health and eating disorder treatment. Sara believes in interventions that address not only thoughts and emotions in the mind, but ones that soothe the nervous system and body as well.

On a non-professional note, Sara loves exploring the outdoors, dancing, and her dog! If anyone has dog pictures to share, she welcomes them!
