Cut through the jargon and learn what makes a startup a startup.

About this Event

You have probably heard about Silicon Valley, Facebook, Uber and Airbnb, but what actually makes a startup a startup? How do you break in to the startup world/culture? Who are the people that create and work in startups?

Join us for an introduction to all things startup, including startup culture and the jargon. Learn the basics so that you can confidently ask the right questions and build your own startup!

Schedule:

5:30 p.m. - Arrive and get your pizza!

5:35 p.m. - An intro to Next 36 a NEXT Canada program that delivers a world-class founder development program to Canada’s most promising young entrepreneurs.

5:50 p.m. - Presentation on all things startups.

7:30 p.m. - All done, go home.

About Next 36

The program provides a select group of undergraduate students and recent grads with a unique combination of education, mentorship and up to $50,000 in seed investment to launch a new business. They believe that by fast-tracking the development of Canada’s most talented young innovators, they will help create industry-changing businesses and grow Canada's long-term prosperity.
