Online event
This workshop will cover how racism pervades the field of dermatology, the consequences for health, and how we can address this problem.
About this event
We invite those who are interested in learning about how to decolonize dermatology and improve the quality of healthcare received by patients of colour to join our workshop to learn about how racism pervades the field of dermatology, how this negatively affects the quality of healthcare received by patients of colour, and how current and future health-care providers can take steps to address this issue and work towards health equity in dermatology. The workshop will include discussions of specific skin conditions and how they have different appearances in dark vs light skin, as well as an introduction to some skin conditions that are especially common in people of colour, and which both healthcare providers and patients of colour should be aware of.
