About this Event

Join Credit Valley Conservation’s Karen Buckle for an engaging discussion with local experts and citizen groups on how to identify, manage and remove Phragmites on your property and in your community.

Phragmites is one of Ontario’s most troublesome invasive plants. The towering reeds can be spotted in thick, impenetrable stands along roadside ditches and in wetlands across the province. It’s a major threat to biodiversity in the region. It destroys wildlife habitat, reduces open water areas and outcompetes native vegetation.

Local organizations like CVC and volunteer-based citizen groups like the Headwaters Streams Committee and the Phrag Fighters have taken up the tireless task of fighting the Phrag. In this free webinar, they share their knowledge on identifying, controlling and removing this relentless reed. Hear local success stories and learn about how you can get involved.
