About this event
Join us in our new community garden space to learn about Indigenous gardening methods through oral teachings and participation.
Many topics are covered and weave into one another. Some examples include moon cycle planting, companion planting, medicinal plants/berries, utilizing multiple growing seasons, working with native plants in the garden(many mislabeled as weeds!), various methods of dehydration and tips for dehydrating different foods, and developing a relationship of care for the land.
Fall Teachings Schedule:
Every Saturday from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at 545 Broadway.
Beginning September 18 through October 30 (weather-dependent).
Free; you can bring a non-monetary offering of food or other goods to trade for the teachings if you would like.
COVID-19 safety: We ask that everyone wear a mask and please respect physical distancing (6 feet or more).
This community garden has been made possible through the direction of Audrey Logan, partnership with West Broadway Community Organization, and huge support from the community in the form of fundraisers, donations and volunteering.
It is a long-term project to bring beauty, community, and food security to the neighborhood of West Broadway.
