For front-line care providers - nurses, personal support workers, community police, social workers, etc.

Part 2 of the Dementia & Behaviour Series. Participation in this workshop is required to complete Part 1: Understanding Common Symptoms & Strategies to Manage Them.

(Part 1 - "Understanding Common Symptoms & Strategies to Manage Them" - March 27)

We will present the following:

* Examples of changing abilities as caused by Dementia

* Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis methodologies of skill maintenance and acquisition

* Service plans to maintain skills while abilities change

It is a common strategy to keep individuals as independent and active as long as possible - maintaining cognitive and physical abilities, maintaining self confidence and decreasing incidents of depression. Join us for this workshop that will define and demonstrate how to keep a client capable and active - even when they are resistent!
