Event Details

Do you have a community event coming up? Are you passionate about a social justice Issues that you want others to be aware of? Don’t know how to create posters? Join us for this poster making 101 workshop!

The Vision Archiveis a digital library of co-designed imagery for social justice causes -- let’s utilize them! This workshop will bring together designers, artists, advocates and community organizers to co-create posters for their own causes. No design experience is required!

Working individually and in teams, participants will utilize graphics co-designed in previous workshops and hosted on the Vision Archive to imagine the world we want to create. Social movement already have a  wealthy visual vocabulary of protest and critique — raised fists, barbed wire, marchers holding placards — but we must depict the world we are building, not just the forces we’re resisting. Come connect with others working toward a shared vision and be introduced to key graphic design skills that can support your cause.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Be introduced to key graphic design skills

  • Apply techniques to the creation of a poster

  • Gain confidence in visual communication

  • Be connected in a shared creative experience

This event is pay what you can, with a suggested donation of $10.*

*Money raised will support participant costs to attend this year’s Design Justice Network Gathering, a convening of designers committed to social justice causes and community centered practices. To learn more about the gathering visit
