Design Thinking at Work: How Innovative Organizations Are Embracing Design
Why do organizations adopt design thinking? There may be more reasons than you think: design thinking can be as much about organizational culture, stakeholder engagement and talent retention as about innovation. The degree of success they have with these goals depends on how they navigate three critical tensions: the tension of Inclusion, the tension of Disruption and the tension of Perspective. David Dunne of University of Victoria’s Gustavson School of Business will talk about these tensions, what they mean for our work as design thinkers and how some successful design thinkers have dealt with them.

Dr. David Dunne is Professor and Director, MBA Programs at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria. He is an award-winning educator who works closely with industry and publishes widely on design thinking. His book, Design Thinking at Work: How Innovative Organizations Are Embracing Design will be published by University of Toronto Press in Fall 2018.
