Learn to Leverage Design Thinking in Your Classroom!
How might you inspire students to develop real solutions to real world problems? How might you create project-based and inquiry learning experiences, personalized to students of any age?
Design Thinking is a human-centered method of approaching problems and finding opportunities for innovation. It can be adapted to the classroom to help students develop creative thinking and problem solving skills while collaborating with their peers and diving deep into content.
This course provides a deep-dive into design thinking for education. You will experience design thinking methods first hand by participating in a design challenge, from identifying an opportunity, to use discovery, to ideation, prototyping and iteration. By the end of the course, you will have a toolkit of methods and activities to use in your classroom or school for solving big problems and engaging students in design thinking challenges.

This fully online cohort course will run from Monday, November 7th, 2016 until Thursday, December 15th, 2016 and online in between. There will be online sessions (via video conference) on the following dates, from 8pm-9pm EST:

Between these online sessions, you will collaborate online with the peers in your cohort, with guidance from the FDS Team. The FDS team will also be available one-on-one, as needed, to mentor you through the process.
We believe that the best way to learn is to do. During the certification training you will be working on your own passion project. As you are guided to complete your project, you will learn the FDS methods - the ones used with students in our Young Innovators program.
