The evening will be punctuated with wide scale panel discussion on the challenges, opportunities and rewards that come with embarking on a transformative journey for Not for Profit & Charity organizations as they become data centric organizations that are steadying themselves for a new technological era in their industry.

This moderated session will consist of leading experts in the fields of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Security & Governance and a leading Not for Profit Foundation Executive who will share and discuss their experiences about the realities of transitioning into a data first business model and culture.



Steve Hoscheit, President and CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation

Steve has an impressive record in both the private and non-profit sectors. He joined Trillium Health Partners Foundation in 2008 from the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (ACHF) where he served as President and CEO, leading a team of 40 individuals and surpassing the $30-million mark in net revenue.Prior to his appointment to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, he enjoyed a 13-year career with Ketchum Canada Inc (KCI). As Senior Vice President, he was responsible for the management and growth of the firm’s activities in Western Canada and effectively collaborated with over 75 clients in campaign management – objectives ranging from $3 million to $100 million.

Betty Ferreira, CMA, CPA & Founder of ReStructure Consulting

A former Executive Director and founder, managing director, and principal consultant of ReStructure Consulting, a boutique consulting firm which focuses on restructuring, turnarounds and mergers of non-profit organizations.
As a former CEO of several non-profit organizations, my work over the past 25 years has focused specifically on projects that require an integration of strategy, finance, governance, and operational planning and implementation. I am passionate about transforming and modernizing organizations. Increasingly my transformation work focuses on modernizing not-for-profit organizations through strategic financial leadership, digital transformation, mergers and amalgamations, and radical organization-wide strategic turnaround transformation.

Hamza Kahn, Managing Director Student Life Network

Hamza Khan is an award-winning marketer, accomplished entrepreneur, and dynamic keynote speaker. He is making waves as the co-founder of Splash Effect, a digital marketing & creative agency which helps clients in the education sector to make connections and enhance their communications. He has worked with leading institutions and forward-thinking brands such as the Rotman School of Management, Restaurants Canada, Ted Rogers School of Management, HootSuite, and the Credit Institute of Canada. He is a two-time TEDx speaker and is regularly invited by leading organizations and businesses to speak on subjects such as how to build digital communities, the impact of personal branding, navigating the multigenerational workforce, building resilience, and more.

Victor Anjos, Co-Founder Data for Good

Leveraging expertise in hardware, software, networking, and data science, engineering and executive management, Victor has led startup, small and medium and enterprise businesses to several funding milestones, exits and acquisitions. He is currently a co-founder of Catalystic.Ai; a group of AI companies that looks to rapidly evolve business objectives for small, medium and enterprise businesses. Victor recently helped launch the Artificial Intelligence engineering teams at as their CTO and has key advisory roles at several Canadian Artificial Intelligence startups, as well as Board of Director seats at several companies. His leadership efforts have recently been recognized as Canada’s AI Leader of the year and at Tech In Motion’s Timmy Awards, where he was named the Top Tech Manager. Earlier in his career, Victor focused on hardware engineering, building some of the largest data centers and data warehouses in the world for SUN Microsystems, Telus, and Shaw Media. Victor is also the co-creator of Data For Good, a Canadian not-for-profit with over 10,000 members and 9 affiliate chapters across the country.
