Dr. Karim Alami is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing at the Somerset Health & Wellness

center in Ottawa. With a background in kinesiology, he obtained his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Concurrently, Dr. Alami was also able to obtain his Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (DHMHS) at the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine. He is currently an active member of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). In addition to treating patients in clinic, Dr. Alami also teaches at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition (IHN), and runs a third-party instructing company that teaches and certifies healthcare providers in First Aid and CPR. Dr. Alami firmly believes in working with his patients to educate and empower them in taking charge of their health through their daily choices. His core beliefs are to take a holistic approach in treatment, to address the root cause of disease, and to focus on optimal/preventive healthcare rather than absence of disease. He has a special interest in treating individuals suffering from metabolic syndrome—namely hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and central obesity. With a background in kinesiology and nutrition, weight management is especially an area of expertise Dr. Alami is well equipped to manage.
