Course Description:

This two-day interactive workshop will be delivered through the Question of Care project, in collaboration with FourCAST. Participants will have the opportunity to practice DBT skills, and will leave with practical tools they can apply in their workplace. The workshop is intended for social workers, addiction counsellors, mental health case managers, nurses, shelter workers, or anyone in a helping profession.

Facilitator Biographies:

Katie Lamport | FourCAST
Katie Lamport has been working in the social service field for the past fourteen years and has been in a Concurrent Disorder Counselling setting for twelve years. She has implemented Dialectical Behaviour therapy skills in counselling sessions, over the phone and in groups. Katie developed a 16 week group focused on DBT skills for clients seeking relapse prevention support.

Cheryl Robinson | FourCAST
Cheryl Robinson is a Registered Psychotherapist and has been working within the Concurrent Disorder field for the past thirteen years. She has been teaching and coaching clients with DBT skills in counselling sessions as well as training staff on the skills within her agency.

Who should attend this training?

QoC training sessions are designed for helping professionals in Peterborough City and County. We define "helping professional" as anyone in a position of interacting with people in providing a service.

Will food be provided?

Coffee, tea, are light snacks are included. Lunch will not be provided. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the Lions Centre. Please feel free to contact the Project Lead for recommendations.

Is there parking?

There is free parking at the Lions Centre, but come early as spaces can fill up fast! Street parking is also available.
