Description

Join the Peterborough Drug Strategy and the Question of Care project for a two-day interactive training workshop practicing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills and tools. Explore ways to integrate DBT skills into your workplace and practice.

What is DBT?

A therapy designed to help people suffering from extreme or unstable emotions and harmful behaviours such as substance use, self harm, and suicidal ideation.

DBT teaches clients four sets of behavioural skills:

Mindfulness // Being present in the moment.
Distress Tolerance // Coping with strong emotions.
Emotion Regulation // Identifying and managing emotions.
Interpersonal Effectiveness // Developing self respect, active listening and assertiveness.

Lead Facilitator

Cheryl Robinson (FourCAST) is a Registered Psychotherapist with over 12 years experience working in the addiction and mental health field. She coaches clients using DBT Skills in session as well as teaching DBT skills in trainings to new staff and community partners.
