DIMENSION is an introductory class to the world of hairdressing. With the current direction the industry is going towards, knowing how to handle longer length hair is crucial.

DIMENSION unlocks the whole spectrum of possibilities that come when working with long length hair. From covering hairdressing techniques and understanding shapes and motion, the class will allow students to feel comfortable when faced with any longer length haircuts.

This 1 day course at CRISP is designed to develop our students through an intensive structured and organized learning process.

This course will cover a variety of modern techniques that are currently essential to the current men’s hairdressing industry. You will get to see the technical approach the educators take to achieve and handle long hair.

The course will include live demonstrations, practical sessions and diagram training to fully understand all the concepts. We believe that Education is essential and is the key to unlock the mind of the visual artist a barber truly is.

COURSE OUTLINE

DAY 1 - 10-5PM

INTRODUCTION TO LONG LENGTH HAIR

The first hours of the day will be an interactive theory session where the instructor will cover the following topics: pre-haircut analysis/execution, cutting techniques/lines, shapes, sections and diagram training. The purpose of the theory session is to open the mind to new concepts before the execution takes place.

The next hours of the day will consist of an interactive look/learn session of 2 models and 2 different hairstyles on longer hair ( layering + line) . Before each haircut, analysis and diagram drawing will be executed by the students to fully understand the approach taken by the educator.

The final part of the day will involve the “hands on” part where each student will be cutting a mannequin head and apply all the knowledge they have gathered to perfectly execute a layered cut. There will be a focus on the mechanics of techniques and execution of each haircut. The students will be guided and helped by the educator.

The day will end with a guided photography and styling session to showcase each cut done in the salon.

*YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT AND MANNEQUIN HEAD + STAND

We will be selling mannequin heads for 65$ if students do not have one.
