Event description

Description

Tiffin is a word with Anglo-Indian origins. When the British arrived in India, their custom of afternoon tea was merged with the Indian practice of having a light meal or snack in the late afternoon. This became known as tiffin, from the British word tiffing, which was slang for taking a little drink. The word has come to refer to any kind of light meal and the container that is used to transport cooked meals. Tiffin: India's Fresh Kitchen is bringing the tiffin experience to Edmonton. Join us for this experience that transforms what was once a light meal into a dinner of many tastes and introduces us to the endless combinations that encompasses Indian cuisine.
