Disability Justice Network of Ontario: Official Launch
Event Information
Description
The Disability Justice Network of Ontario (DJNO) welcomes you to our official launch!
Over the next few years, DJNO hopes to embark on our journey towards our vision: a world where people with disabilities are free to be. In order to accomplish our vision, we have to build with our community, right from the beginning. We have to intentionally discuss the steps we are taking in pursuit of this vision, provide space for people with disabilities to discuss urgent community issues, and resource people with disabilities to address these issues. Whether it is advocacy, education, or programming, we must be community-informed and community-led.
Hamilton is the city with the largest population of people with disabilities in the province, and it is where DJNO will be establishing its roots. By launching our DJNO in our city, we hope to service our community and build momentum to expand this movement. We hope you will be able to attend to help us get started. This launch is open to community members, service providers, and allies. We will go over our mission, vision, values, introduce the DJNO team, launch our website, and more.
Our launch will take place in the auditorium of the Hamilton Public Library (55 York Blvd), and it will have an accessible washroom. We will have ASL interpreters available, and CART captioning.
