Join the Friends of McNabs Island on Sunday, July 24 for a guided tour of McNabs Island Provincial Park. Located at the entrance to Halifax Harbour, McNabs Island offers a glimpse into Nova Scotia's colourful past and unspoiled natural beauty.

Discover the unique history of the island from the Mi’kmaq to “midway king” Bill Lynch,

Visit the island’s many historic sites including the Victorian Gardens, pop bottle factory, and grounds of the historic Conrad and Lynch homes,

Learn more about the tragic story of the SS England, stricken with cholera and quarantined near McNabs in 1866,

Explore historic Fort Ives and Fort McNab and learn how the forts protected Halifax during wartime,

Beachcomb along sandy Maugers Beach.
Departure Point: Meet at 9:15 for the 9:30 am departure from A&M Sea Charters - 87 Government Wharf Rd, in Fisherman's Cove - Eastern Passage, B3G 1M7
A second boat has now been added. For this trip please meet at 10:15 for the 10:30am departure.
Dress for the weather and island environment. Wear sturdy sneakers for hiking; bring sunscreen, sunhats, insect repellent, drinking water and a lunch. When registering, include the number for the cell phone that you will have with you on the island.

Adults (non-members): $20
Members of Friends of McNabs: $15
Children and youth under 16: $15
Toddlers and babies under 2: Free

Boat capacity is limited to 27 people.
As the first boat is now full, a second trip has been added. This boat also departs from Eastern Passage, at the same location, but the departure time is 10:30am.
Tickets to this event are non-refundable. In the event of heavy rain, the event will be rescheduled to a later date (TBA).
While this event is now sold out, Friends of McNabs will be hosting a Fall Foliage Tour again this year. That tour will be taking place on October 16th and tickets will become available for purchase in September.
