Event description

Description

Get hooked on this traditional fibre art that frees you to follow your imagination! Originally developed as a way to warm the floors of drafty houses, rug hooking has evolved into a contemporary art form, using new and recycled materials. In this class you will learn the essentials of rug hooking, including what to know about materials, equipment, methods and more. After choosing from a selection of provided designs, you will learn how to transfer yours to the backing and - finally - how to hook it. You will never again be held back by having to buy a pattern or kit!

Here is what participants from past Rug Hooking workshops with Holly Kindgon have said:

'' This workshop was a great opportunity to try something new in a relaxed atmosphere.''

''The instructor was great and it was convenient that all the supplies were included!''

AUDIENCE: This workshop is open to teenagers (13 years and older) and adults who have little or no experience with Rug Hooking.

SUPPLIES: All supplies are included and you will go home with the quilting hoop. If you own a sharp pair of scissors, please bring them with you to the workshop. Please also bring a lunch, snacks, and a water bottle to the workshop.

TICKETS:

Registration Cost: $170.

Ticket sale ends on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 at 7 PM
