Description: Understanding customer behavior is the foundation of all successful startups! This 4-week applied program will teach entrepreneurs how to engage customers and discover their motivations, preferences, and needs. Participants will be expected to conduct multiple customer interviews, reporting results of those interviews, and continue to mould their business model on a weekly basis. By the end of the program, participants will analyze their results to determine viability of their opportunity, and be positioned to build a minimum viable product based on customer feedback.

Audience: Entrepreneurs currently working on a business idea who have an understanding of basic startup concepts. Participants with an idea or prototype who have not reached the point of sales or revenue will experience the greatest benefit from this program.

October 19 – Solving a Problem

October 26 – Competition and Status Quo

November 2 – Presentations

 

About the Presentors:

Bruce Thurston: Bruce has experience as a CEO President with a strong proven leadership track record. Bruce is a go-to-advisor for many organization in southern Alberta. Among his many accomplishments include his induction into the U of L Honor Society as a result of the wealth of knowledge and skill he has brought to his teaching role in the Faculty of Management as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.

Darren Neuberger: Darren has always had a passion for helping others success in all aspects of their life. From a lifetime involvement in sports, especially baseball, he has lived through highs and the lows on the playing field as both a player and a coach. His love of sports has taught him many valuable life lessons of which he has rolled into his current profession as a Motivational Speaker, Presentation, Empowerment and Business Coach. Darren has held many of his clients make the transition to entrepreneurship and they are all flourishing in their chosen business endeavors. Darren’s expertise is helping clients discover their why, make the transition from their “job” to becoming an entrepreneur, all aspects of staring up their biz, creating and sticking to their goals, building their brand, effective and cost efficient social media marketing, sales and presentation building and delivery! Darren is a TEDx Talker, published author, cancer survivor with a worldwide client network and over 20,000 followers on social media. Darren has a gift for getting the best out of people and helping them achieve their entrepreneurial goals!
