Your classroom is the next highly anticipated stop in your student’s journey of inclusion. This workshop will provide an overview of best practices for creating a welcoming classroom, adapting curriculum, and providing supports. Then the conversation will focus on enabling positive peer relationships, building a support network for the teaching team, and including parents as partners on your team. With the added expertise of the AIM team we will examine challenging scenarios at different grades and brainstorm options and strategies that will help you deal proactively with difficult behaviours. Networking with colleagues provides the impetus and inspiration to raise the bar for speech & behaviour, academics and independence. If you expect more from your team, the student and parents, this year will indeed be one to celebrate.
Who should attend: Teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, EAs, Special Education Teachers, Child Care providers, Parents or anyone involved in working with a child with Down syndrome.
